Gbevlo’s Evil …..

Akufo Addo’s Land Cruiser Rots At National Security!

It’s getting onto a year now that a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to Nana Akufo-Addo, flag-bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2008 elections was snatched from his driver.

With February coming quickly to an end, we would enter March, the month in which, in 2009, agents from National Security seized the vehicle. As off yesterday, it was still rotting at the Blue Gate in Accra, where it was parked after the seizure.

Nana Addo’s vehicle with registration number GE 1466 Z car was snatched when he was outside the country for holidays following the heated campaign in the 2008 electioneering campaign by a posse of persons who claimed they were National Security operatives.

A driver of Nana Addo, whose name was given as Joe, was said to have taken the vehicle to Opera Square in Accra when on his way back the men approached him and demanded the keys to the car.

The operatives claimed they were acting on instructions from above and are said to have driven the car to the Osu Castle, the official seat of government.

Even though the driver told them it was not a state vehicle and is privately owned vehicle by Nana Akufo-Addo and showed insurance documentation on the vehicle that had Nana Akufo-Addo's name in it, they still took it away.

The operatives after seizing the vehicle called-in fully armed policemen and they had all manner of confrontations with this driver and retrieved the vehicle from the driver to the Castle.

Almost a year on, the car is still parked at the National Secretariat popularly call Blue Gate and nobody knows whether the National Security Coordinator, Lt. Col Gbevlo Lartey, is going to add it to his fleet of vehicles or probably give it to the “VEHICLES GRABBING” syndicate at the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
It would be recalled that when the Mills administration took over, it attracted an avalanche of criticism over the confiscation of vehicles in the street suspected to be state assets.

Many former ex-government functionaries are said to have suffered the blow of the embarrassment with some forced to pick taxis back home.

At least, son of former President Kufuor, Chief Kufuor, the Managing Director of Barclays Bank and a former deputy minister under the Kufuor administration became victims of it.

Nana stole the govt Land Cruiser and it was recovered. How can you refer to it as 'his' car?

How can someone who cannot resist the temptation to use his position to appropriate a govt car to himself hope to be President? If he cannot be entrusted with a car, what will happen to the resources of Ghana if Nana becomes Prez?

Thank God Nana has no chance in a billion of winning, even if Prof decides not to do anything in addition to what has been done so far. His dream of born to rule will remain a sick mirage!!!!!!!!!!!
